GA Ready Course
Overview
The most challenging aspect of starting out in an aviation career, is learning and understanding how a GA Charter company operates and what sort of flying to expect in you first job.
Light Jets Australia offers commercial pilots the opportunity to experience real world commercial operations and prepare you to be GA ready for your first flying job. Kick off your career with confidence in the air!
The LJA ‘GA Ready Course’ enables a pilot the opportunity to see what it is really like to work in aviation.
The course is designed to offer not only flying experience in a simulated charter flight, but also will prepare you for what other parts of your first job will entail.
Light Jets Australia are offering 3 types of courses, each with unique components to them to prepare you for your first job.
Refresher Course
5 hours of flying in a 58 Baron to get you competent again.
Mentoring involves:
• 1 hour of circuits
• A 2 hour navigational simulated charter exercise with 3 landings (one being a dirt strip)
• Operations in Control airspace and CTAF
• 1 hour of mentoring instrument approaches (if you hold all applicable qualifications)
• 1 hour of night flying
• Additional mentoring around general duties and other requirements that a GA operator would require of their pilots
• The ability to observe on a real life charter in either a Baron or Citation Jet (subject to availability)
• Must have a current multi-engine class rating

Baron introduction and bush flying Course
10 hours of simulated charter experience in and out of bush strips and also controlled airspace.
Mentoring involves:
• 1 hour of circuits and familiarisation in the Baron
• 7 hours of simulated charters to remote bush strips and towns multiple landings and take offs operating in VFR and IFR situations
• 2 hours of night flying
• Additional mentoring around general duties and other requirements that a GA operator would require of their pilots
• The ability to observe on a real life charter in either a Baron or Citation Jet (subject to availability)
• Must have a current multi-engine class rating
• Price on application
IFR refresher course and or multi engine endorsement with a third party approved training provider
• Get up to speed with an IFR instructor and also undertake an initial multi endorsement
